“At first an ordeal and then an accomplishment, the daily run becomes a staple, like bread, or wine, a fine marriage, or air. It is also a free pass to friendship.”
~ Benjamin Cheever, Strides

My Story

I'm never good at these "about me" things....

I am a lawyer turned chemist turned stay-at-home mom.

I started this blog because all my friends were doing it and it seemed like a good idea at the time.   It was initially called "running for two" because I'm not the most creative type.  (I mean, what part of lawyer turned chemist sounds creative?).   Why running for two?  I started this blog because I was training for my second half marathon while pregnant with my first baby.  (I never said I was the sane type either.  Hehehe).  As I actually got more serious about blogging, I realized that a name-change was in order.  I asked friends and readers for suggestions and changed the name to "No Standing Still" as suggested by Lisa.  I like the play on my last name - Still - and that it encompasses the fact that I do way more than just run.  Then, I bought my own domain name.  I know, it just keeps getting better!

Nonetheless, this blog was initially going to be focused on running.  Why I do it, my races, my training, running while pregnant and tips I've picked up along the way.  Now, I have weekly updates on my big plan to climb Mt. Rainier.  (as well as all the running and races I'm doing).  For the more details on the Rainier climb go HERE.

Much of who we are and these "about me" pages are shaped and defined by our life experiences - since I'll be sharing many of my recent life experiences in blog posts, I'll stop here and let those who don't "know" me pick up the interesting tidbits along the way.

For those that want the running background though...

Enjoy the ride!
